One Call Insurance Charity Golf Day

It was that time of the year where the energy Team got dressed in Gum boots, bright orange overalls and very flattering T’s; we all headed off to the Benoni Country Club for One Call Insurance Brokers golf day.
Being 2010 with the FIFA Soccer World cup in South Africa, Energy at Work decided on a theme: PROUDLY SOUTH AFRICAN!
Having the 17th hole covered in South African flags and serving the famous Koeksisters, dry wors, Castle beer and the ever so risky mampoer! The hole was filled with the amazing Energy spirit.
Convincing every dedicated golf player for a shot of mampoer or drinking a beer through a Vuvuzela (South African style), the 17th hole became the talk of the course! Waiting in anticipation for our 4 ball sponsor to come past, we enjoyed the comments and facial expressions of players after having our famous mampoer. For most it helped them get that last good shot. For others – well, what can we say….
As the day progressed the cold started setting in and as the last players came along bad light had already set in – so they enjoyed a “lekker kuier” with us enjoying the Energy hospitality and drinks of course!
After a hot shower, a hot, scrumptious dinner with all the players and MC’d by the pro golfer Dave Ussendorff was an excellent way to end this amazing day.
Collecting business cards from every player during the day for our lucky draw at the prize giving evening, we were very happy to give Angus Gibb the gift voucher from DNA Telesales. As they say – you can never have enough balls to play golf!
The One Call Golf day is dedicated to charity where all the money raised is donated to various charities that are in need of various goods, food and warm blankets. Energy at Work is extremely proud of being part and being able to support such an amazing cause!
